Jean Batten was a female pilot born in 1909 who proved everyone wrong.In England 1934 she flew to Australia in 14 days 22 hours and 13 minutes (she failed 2 times before that). In 1936 she became the first female pilot to fly solo across the entire world she was given the name hine o te rangi: daughter of the skies. When she got older she stopped flying.she died in 1982.
